These terms apply to your use of StudyChat at studychat.bot ("StudyChat", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use StudyChat.

1. What StudyChat is

StudyChat is an independent study tool that uses artificial intelligence to estimate IELTS Writing band scores and give feedback on practice answers. Scores and feedback are estimates for practice only. They are not official IELTS results and do not predict or guarantee any score in a real test. StudyChat is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the University of Cambridge, the British Council or IDP Education.

2. Acceptable use

We may limit or suspend access that breaks these rules.

3. Free and Pro access

Free use includes a daily number of checks shown on the site, which may change. Pro passes are one-time purchases that unlock Pro features for the period stated at checkout (for example 7, 30 or 90 days from purchase), subject to fair-use daily limits shown on the pricing page. Passes do not renew automatically. A pass may be used on up to 3 of your own devices.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by Gumroad, which acts as merchant of record and is responsible for collecting applicable taxes. Your purchase is also subject to Gumroad's terms. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to the essays you submit. You give us permission to process them only to provide feedback to you. We do not store your essays on our servers; see the privacy policy.

6. AI output

Feedback is generated automatically and can contain mistakes. Use your own judgement and, where it matters, check with a qualified teacher. Rewritten essays are provided to help you learn; do not submit them as your own work where that is not allowed.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep StudyChat available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change features, limits or these terms. If we make a material change we will update the date above.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, StudyChat is provided "as is" and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including any test result. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
